 A Brief Biography

Judy Browne and Marvin Taylor have crossed paths many times over their years in the Atlanta music scene, both in live performances and in recording studios, and always looked forward to working together on a permanent project someday.  That day arrived when they decided to form their duo, Browne and Taylor.

Judy Browne is a native of Atlanta, and has been singing professionally for over twenty years. She is one of the featured vocalists in "The Mustangs", a highly respected events band performing venues in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and the Carolina's. The Mustangs have worked and performed with many great artists including Branford Marsalis, Steve Cropper, Trick Pony, Dennis Tufano and Johnny Lee. Judy is a professional studio singer in Atlanta and Nashville, and has recently started a new adventure in radio and television jingles.

Marvin moved to Atlanta after formative years in recording studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Memphis, Tennessee. He played with Atlanta bands Mose Jones, Out A Hand, and Java Monkey among others, and has worked with International Blues/Jazz artist Francine Reed for over fifteen years, both in the studio and on world tours.  Marvin and his wife Raven are professional song writers who have songs featured on all Francine’s CDs. Marvin has also performed as a guitarist with John Michael Montgomery, Mark Wills, Montgomery Gentry, John Berry, Steve Cropper, Ricochet, Davy Jones of The Monkees and Paul Barerre of Little Feat.

Marvin’s unique experiences as a producer and multi-instrumental studio musician enable him to produce “backing tracks” that truly make the Browne and Taylor duo not only sound like a complete, live band, but a REALLY GOOD ONE!  Their repertoire showcases Judy’s amazing voice and range of styles, and leaves plenty of room for Marvin to stretch out on both electric and acoustic guitars.

“We worked hard on this to make sure it was going to be really good, but we had no idea it would be this much fun!” Audiences unanimously agree on both counts.
